Developer Crest Nicholson has announced that its annual
Christmas fundraising campaign at Park Central in Birmingham city
centre has been a huge success, with the developer inundated with
gifts for Castle Bromwich-based children charity, Dream Makers.
Launched in November, the 'Making Christmas Dreams Come True'
campaign saw Crest appealing to homeowners at Park Central and
members of the public to donate toys, games, books and CDs for the
local charity, by dropping the gifts off at the marketing suite.
Dream Makers helps thousands of chronically sick and terminally ill
children each year, primarily by providing therapy holidays for
children and their families at three mobile homes in Torquay,
Devon.
The gifts collected as part of the fundraising efforts will be
used to replenish the holiday homes which are in near constant use
throughout the year, and will be used to help the families relax
and enjoy valuable time away in a comfortable and secure
environment. Additionally, Crest Nicholson presented Dream Makers
with a financial donation towards higher value items, such as games
consoles and furnishings for the holiday homes.
Jo Parker, sales manager at Park Central, said: "We're thrilled
with the response we've had to this year's Christmas fundraising
campaign and would like to extend a huge thank you to all those who
went out of their way to make a donation - it's amazing what a
difference such a small act can make and we've been overwhelmed by
the public's response.
"Since we announced we were collecting gifts for Dream Makers,
we've had a steady stream of visitors to the Park Central marketing
suite who are dropping off their items, and it is hugely satisfying
to now hand these over to the charity. Dream Makers does an amazing
job, all year round, in supporting chronically sick and terminally
ill children, and we are proud to be associated with the excellent
work the charity does. We are sure the donated gifts will be
put to good use throughout 2010."

Juney Walsh-Cooper, founder of Dream Makers Children's Charity,
said: "We are very grateful to all those who have supported Crest
Nicholson's annual charity campaign at Park Central this Christmas.
We are constantly receiving requests from the families of sick
children who are in real need of a break; and as such the holiday
homes in Torquay are used heavily throughout the year.
Replacing the items within the holiday homes requires a
sizeable budget; and we are therefore always thankful for donations
and would like to thank everyone who has been kind enough to donate
gifts for the children."
