Following the unemployment focus in the December's pre-budget
report, County Training, Shropshire's largest training provider,
are urging those wishing to come off health related benefits and
rejoin work, to enrol on the Pathways to Work programme.
Whether you need to sharpen up old skills or learn new ones, if
you need to rebuild your confidence, want help to manage your
health condition in work, or need advice to get your CV into shape
and practice for interviews, Pathways to Work could help.
Pathways to Work is a government funded programme, which
provides a range of services and advice to support people off
health-related benefits and into work. The programme is operated by
Remploy, the UK's leading provider of specialist employment
services, in partnership with County Training, part of Shropshire
Council.
Gary Dixon, Employment Manager at County Training, commented "A
range of programmes are available to suit your needs. We understand
that everyone has different circumstances and a different story to
tell, which is why we will assign you your own individual
Employment Officer, who will be your point of contact and will help
you prepare for employment by providing you with the exact package
of support that you need."
Since launching Pathways to Work in April 2008, County Training
has assisted almost 700 people into sustainable employment,
providing them with return to work support, job coaching,
confidence building, communication training and lots more.
Councillor Stephen Charmley, Portfolio Holder for Culture and
Leisure, said "The new year is a great time to make a new
start.County Training have a team of professional, experienced
staff waiting to help you. They have strong links with local
employers and countywide facilities close to many of Shropshire's
town centres, which makes them easy to access no matter where in
Shropshire you live."
