Staff at Notts-based call centre Domestic & General have
been getting busy with their knitting needles as they set about
raising money for the Terrence Higgins Trust.
Volunteers from D&G have been meeting regularly to knit
various items that can be sold to raise money for different
charitable groups. Terrence Higgins Trust is the current charity of
choice for D&G in support of World AIDS Day.
Samuel Babbs, facilitator at D&G said: "The knitting group
has been working hard to knit scarves, hats, mittens, bags and
cushion covers which I have then sold at craft fairs across the
county, we have raised £250 which is really pleasing.
"Terrence Higgins Trust is a very worthy cause and was one of
the first charities to be set up in the wake of the HIV epidemic.
Here at D&G we wanted to do all we could in order to highlight
AIDS and HIV by raising money for the cause."
Tracy Burrell, head of HR said: "We are delighted that Samuel
and his team have managed to raise money for the Terrence Higgins
Trust. The group has worked really hard and we are really pleased
to support such a worthy cause."
Forty million people worldwide live with HIV/AIDS and twelve
