Food and drink technology firms across the West Midlands are
being invited to showcase their products and services at the Middle
East's leading industry event.
UK Trade & Investment's West Midlands International Food
& Drink Cluster is offering companies in this sector an
exciting opportunity to share a group stand on the British pavilion
at Gulfood & Hotel Equipment Exhibition 2010 in Dubai, from
February 21-24.
Gulfood is the Middle East's largest dedicated exhibition for
the foodservice, catering, hospitality and food processing
sectors.
UK Trade & Investment International Trade Adviser Shernel
Stevenson, based at Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of
Commerce, manages the international trade element of Advantage West
Midlands' Food & Drink Cluster.
She said: "The value of the Gulfood market is estimated at more
than US$9 billion, with projections for further growth as the
Middle East's per capita income levels remain amongst the highest
in the world.
"In particular, the hotel and restaurant industry is rapidly
expanding, with around US$1.4 billion earmarked for new hotels
currently either under construction or at the design stage.
"This event is an ideal opportunity for West Midlands companies
to meet key decision makers and hopefully win new business as a
result."
The International Food & Drink Cluster is also organising
the following overseas visits:
• 20-21 January: A Taste of Britain in Austria. Buyers,
importers and distributors from this market and ten other countries
will be represented and there will also be a networking
reception.
• 11-12 February: A Taste of Britain in the Algarve.
