Businesses should prepare now for new VAT rules in 2010 says Chamber

Businesses involved in exporting or importing need to prepare now for the VAT changes affecting the supply of goods and services throughout Europe, says Birmingham and Solihull Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI).

The changes, which take effect on New Year's Day, 2010 will affect any company which is supplying or receiving services to and from overseas businesses.

Midlands Enterprise Europe Network, part of BCCI, together with Midlands World Trade Forum will be hosting a free workshop on Friday December 11 at Chamber of Commerce House. Speakers from Ernst & Young LLP will present businesses with information on the implications of the new VAT rules and procedures, together with how businesses should comply.
