Colleagues from Nicholsons chartered accountants in Lincolnshire
got into the Christmas spirit when they donned white beards and red
coats for the Great Lincoln Santa Fun Run and Walk on Sunday, 13
December.
Steph Danby, Charlotte Maynard, Simon Hall, Becky Haigh,
Jeannine Peta Thornley, Richard Grayson and Mark Grayson together
with Simon's partner Kirsty Wilding, joined in the annual
fundraiser for the first time in aid of the Bobby Moore Fund, which
raises money for research into bowel cancer.
The team raised £340 through sponsorship from colleagues,
friends and family members.
In addition, their entry fees for the race will be donated to
charities selected by organisers the Lincoln Colonia Rotary Club -
principally St Andrew's Children's Hospice in Grimsby and the
Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance.
Jeannine said: "At first, I was just planning on doing this for
fun, as I thought the vision of 1,500 Santas running around the
cathedral and castle would be hilarious!
"But I recently visited a friend of mine who has been ill for
the past three months and is one of the bravest men I've ever known
- he inspired me to try to raise some cash along the way and I
asked him to nominate a charity, which he did.
"We all had a good laugh together on the day, but more
importantly raised some money for a very deserving cause."
