50 Year 12 students from Countesthorpe Community College,
Leicestershire will be getting hands on with The University of
Northampton's School of Health this Friday when they visit as part
of the nationwide 11 Million Takeover Day campaign.
11 Million Takeover Day is a national event on Friday 6
November, organised by the Children's Commissioner for England,
where children and young people have a chance to work alongside
adults and get involved in decision making.
The Year 12 students will be involved with workshops in Adult
Nursing and Occupational Therapy and discussing ideas for an
updated children's nursing curriculum.
The School of Health have been working with the University's
Marketing and External Relations department, who initiated and
organised the event via their Recruitment and Liaison team.
Over 17,000 children and 700 organisations took part in 2008's
11 Million Takeover Day and this year MPs, the Bank of England,
schools, the media, police forces, fire brigades, councils,
hospitals, charities, youth groups and many more are getting
involved.
