West Midlands-based Forensic Pathways has been crowned one of
the top businesses in the country at the National Business Awards
in London.
The company, which has offices in Tamworth and Perth, Australia,
devises technology and equipment used by law enforcement
organisations around the world.
With its industry partner, Cambridgeshire Police, it scooped the
award in the 'Orange Best Use of Technology in Business' category,
for its work on the Forensic Phone Analyser.
The technology was devised to streamline and improve operational
efficiency in the management of evidence and intelligence across
the whole of Cambridgeshire. By integrating the Forensic Phone
Analyser Platform into Cambridgeshire Constabulary's intelligence
workflow, significant exploitable operational advantage was gained
which vastly improved the quality of actionable intelligence as
well as improved customer convenience. It also reduced costs and
allowed the police to stay ahead of active criminals and terrorists
to improve public safety and reduce risk.
Richard Leary, managing director of Forensic Pathways, said: "We
are thrilled to have won one of the most prestigious business
awards in the country.
"Working with Cambridgeshire Police, we have been able to
develop a technology that could eventually be used by law
enforcement agencies around the world. It enables them to track
criminals and link them to each other through mobile phone records
in a way that would have been impossible a few years ago.
"As criminals get more technologically savvy, so too must the
authorities who are chasing them. Investing in and encouraging
innovation is vital to this and we are delighted that our hard
work, and the foresight shown by Cambridgeshire Police, has been
recognised."
