DIRECTORS at J Wright Roofing have firmly established their
commitment to training young people by becoming assessors for the
new National Roofing College in the East Midlands.
This follows the news earlier this year that the Bulwell-based
firm has been granted permission to build the £1million
college for roofing apprentices at its site in Bulwell.
Jason Wright, managing director of the firm, and his fellow
associate directors Livia Williams and Paul Lievers, put themselves
through the rigorous training process to become NVQ qualified
roofing assessors.
Jason said: "I am delighted we have all passed and we are ready
to go as assessors when the first pupils join the college. It is
great to be able to keep the familiarity between the existing staff
here at J Wright and those that will be working in the
college."
The National Roofing College (East Midlands), in Bulwell, was
the brain child of Jason. Jason is dedicated to apprentices and has
trained 30 within his company over the last nine years.
Jason adds: "I think it is vital to support apprentices and to
promote the benefits that they can bring to companies. I am proud
to say that J Wright has been built up using apprentices and that
by training our own staff we breed loyalty and hard working
employees."
The scheme has also achieved enthusiastic support from local MP
Graham Allen.
