Browne Jacobson has enhanced its credentials as a leading law
firm according to independent legal 'bible' Chambers UK 2010 which
ranks law firms and lawyers in 70 specialist areas of the law.
In the latest edition, launched this week, the firm was ranked
first or second for 14 of the 24 practice areas in which it is
listed. Last year it was ranked first or second in 12 practice
areas.
The firm also raised its rankings in six practice areas
including Education, Environment, Intellectual Property, Planning,
Professional Negligence (Financial) and Real Estate Litigation.
In the East Midlands the firm was ranked the best in five key
practice areas including Corporate Finance, Dispute Resolution,
Real Estate, Restructuring & Insolvency and Social Housing
whilst in the West Midlands the firm's Real Estate team was ranked
for the first time.
Four practice areas, Clinical Negligence, Education, Health
& Social Care and Public Law all received a national
ranking.
Chambers UK also rates individual lawyers and once again a
record number were rated as 'leaders in their field' in this year's
directory. Of the 38 rated individuals 24 are based in the firm's
Nottingham office, 13 in Birmingham and 1 in London. Last year the
guide rated 30 of the firm's lawyers as 'leaders in their
field'.
