Lawyers specialising in the well-being of the elderly are to
explore critical issues on the subject, including how to make the
most of state funded care, at a meeting in Stratford.
Stratford-upon-Avon law firm Lodders will be hosting an
afternoon talk on Thursday November 12 by Caroline Bielanska, chair
of Solicitors for the Elderly.
She will be talking to the South Warwickshire and Worcestershire
branch of SFE about Elderly Client issues.
Sofia Tayton, an associate in the private client department at
Lodders and regional co-ordinator of the South Warwickshire and
Worcestershire branch of the SFE said: "Members have the knowledge
that allows them to ignore the myths relating to ageing and the
competence of elderly people.
"Not just any lawyer can be a member of SFE. Members must have
spent a substantial amount of their time working for elderly
clients and have to fulfil other criteria for membership.
"We would always advise members of the public to take advice on
issues surrounding care fees, wills, powers of attorney and Court
of Protection matters from legal professionals who are affiliated
with SFE. That way, they can be sure that they are getting
advice they can rely on."
