Daredevils from Nottingham-based solicitors Fraser Brown will be
scaling the heights of Derby's Ramada Encore hotel next month and
are calling for more people to join them in their quest to raise
money for children's charity When you Wish Upon a Star.
The event is taking place on 5 December and will see almost 30
employees and contacts from Fraser Brown abseiling 30m down the
side of the new hotel. The firm chose When You Wish Upon a Star as
its nominated charity for 2009/10 and has pledged to raise
£10,000 in total. It is hoped the abseil will raise over
£1,500.
Organiser Jasbinder Digva, from Fraser Brown, said, "When You
Wish Upon a Star is a wonderful charity, chosen because of its
Nottingham roots and the work it does to bring a smile to the faces
of so many. Last year some of my colleagues did a skydive in aid of
charity and so we wanted to follow that with something else that
would get the adrenaline going. The abseil has been very popular
and I've even been persuaded to take part despite being terrified
of heights. I just hope that everyone is still as enthusiastic when
they are stood at the edge of the rooftop in December!"
When You Wish Upon a Star works to grant the wishes of children
across the UK aged between 2 and 16 year old, all of whom have a
life threatening illness. The charity endeavours to provide this
unique experience for as many of these brave and courageous
children as possible.
