the credit crunch
An enterprising student from Coventry University has come up
with a new website to help graduates fight back against the credit
crunch by starting their own business.
Richard Burridge is currently studying for a BA in Enterprise
and Entrepreneurship and has entered his website in a competition
as part Enterprise Week at the University.
Richard's idea for the competition was to come up with a
marketing strategy for promoting entrepreneurship at Coventry
University and so he developed a website called
www.StudentFightBack.com which highlights the fact that the job
prospects for graduates is at an all time low and encourages them
to set up in business for themselves.
The website gives graduates top tips on how to set up their own
business and the reasons why setting up a business can prove to be
a wise move.
For instance, as the website points out, "being self-employed
means that you can decide where and when you work, earn potentially
a good income and make the decisions on everything the business
does."
Richard Burridge said: "My website covers all the basics on
how to spot a business opportunity right through to launching it
and promoting it. There is also a great deal of background
material, learning tools and external links to organisations that
can also help when setting up a business."
Richard is currently studying for a degree but at the same time,
running a web design business called eMarketing Media Ltd.
Upon completion of his degree, he wants to work full-time on
growing his business.
