Warwickshire lawyer Kim Beddows is recovering from a whirlwind
week - she celebrated her 27th birthday, qualified as a lawyer and
got engaged.
"It was just amazing," she said.
Her qualification came after six years hard work - a three year
law degree at Bristol University, a one year legal practice course
at the College of Law in Birmingham, and then two years training at
Stratford-upon-Avon law firm Lodders.
And, if that wasn't enough, boyfriend John Klahn popped the
question.
A book editor, who works in Warwick, he whisked her off to
Bristol - the couple had met at Bristol University - and
proposed.
"He completely fooled me," she said. "What a wonderful week. It
was extraordinary."
The couple have set April 2011 as their wedding date.
Kim, who lives in Leamington Spa, is now a full-time assistant
solicitor in Lodders' business group, headed by partner Victor
Matts.
She said: "I am really thrilled to have been given this
opportunity.
"The work of the business group has always interested me and the
chance to be in a firm with a very high reputation in this field is
right in line with my career plans.
"Non-contentious employment law interests me particularly and I
hope eventually to specialise in this area."
Victor Matts said: "We regard Kim as a highly motivated and
capable young solicitor who will be a great asset in our group.
"We wish her and John every happiness for their future
together."
