Shugborough gets set for the squealiest Halloween ever

Dust off your broomsticks as Shugborough prepares for its squealiest Halloween ever.

The Halloween event at the Stafford stately home is renowned across the region and with the theme for this year's spooktacular being "things that go bump in the night", the evening is promising to be a real howler.

The ghoulish mansion house and servants' quarters will be transformed into a fun, haunted house and visitors are advised to watch out, as behind ever corner lies a bump, a bang or an icy tap on the shoulder.

The family event this year will also boast "Thriller-style" performances by the Urban Dance Crew - a large street dance troupe from North Staffordshire.

In addition, visitors can have a shriek of a time on the garden ghost train and on guided walks into the depths of the Shugborough grounds.

There will also be a small fun fair (additional charges), trick or treat and apple bobbing stalls and a variety of caterers selling toffee apples, roast chestnuts and warm punch.

The Halloween evening of family hocus pocus takes place on Saturday October 31 from 5pm until 9pm.

Discounted tickets are available to purchase in advance from www.shugborough.org.uk or by calling 0845 459 8900 at £9 adults, £7 children and concessions, £26 families (two adults and up to three children) and £13 for a one adult and one child family.

On the night prices are £10 adults, £8 children and concessions £30 for a family (two adults and up to three children) and £15 for a one adult and one child family. Under fives are free.

The Halloween event will be the culmination of spooky themed fun at the estate, as daily Halloween half term activities take place from 11am until 5pm at the house, servant's quarters and farm during the school holiday until Thursday October 29.
