Murray Carmichael-Smith, group managing director of leading
Nottingham communications agency BCS, has agreed to join the board
of the Derby based Creative Industries Network (CIN).
The aim of the Network is to enhance the East Midlands'
reputation as a veritable hotbed of creative talent, rivalling the
traditional powerhouses of London and Manchester.
Murray clearly believes that the CIN's mission is achievable, as
he states: "We're looking to put Derbyshire and its neighbours on
the map. There is some outstanding traditional and multi-media work
coming out of the region's agencies and we want to bring it to the
nation's attention. There's no escaping the fact that traditional
industry is declining in the area, but it's being replaced by the
creative sector and the CIN wants to ensure we attract the cream of
British talent to keep us at the forefront of the industry."
