NOTTINGHAM-based Frontline Recruitment is not disheartened by
the recent unemployment figures, as placements through the firm
continue to soar.
Frontline, which also has offices across the region in Derby,
Mansfield, Leicester as well as Bradford, has reported a 35%
increase in sales between July and September this year and has also
seen a 20% increase in its client base from the previous quarter
between January and March.
The firm is celebrating this news after recent unemployment
figures from the Office for National Statistics showed that the
number of people out of work grew in the three months to August, by
88,000. Although gloomy, this is the slowest rise in recent
months.
Tony Wilmot, partner at the firm, said: "We are obviously really
pleased that although the national figures show that unemployment
is at an all time high, we are still successfully placing people in
jobs and that we are still taking on board new clients who want to
take on new staff.
"I think that the figures we have are a strong indication that
unemployment is slowing down and that companies are now moving out
of the harder periods and are looking to the future and what they
need to grow their companies.
"We have particularly seen a growth in the number of companies
looking for temporary labour, to fill vital skills gaps, without
committing to a longer term investment in staff.
"This might not sound like it, but it is actually a good thing
for younger people who may not have been able to get into
university, or have just left university and need some general work
experience. They can potentially pick up shorter term work that
will give them something extra to add to their cv, without
committing to a longer term role."
