Professor John Beddington, the Chief Scientific Adviser to HM
Government, paid a fact-finding visit to the Serious Games
Institute (SGI) on Coventry University's Technology Park yesterday.
(Monday 26 October)
Professor Beddington was invited to the SGI by Professor Sara De
Freitas and her Applied Research team. Sara is the Professor
of Virtual Environments and the Director of Research, Serious Games
and the Virtual Worlds Research Group.
During his short visit, Professor Beddington was given a guided
tour of the SGI, had demonstrations of some of the research
projects currently being undertaken and was given background
information on the commercial development of the UK Serious Games
Sector.
Professor Bedding was also introduced to Alex Jevremovic of CDV
and Kevin Corti of Pixelearning who are both based at the SGI
