Lincoln's first mixed use ecological and energy efficient
business park - Cedar Parc - which is currently being developed on
the outskirts of Lincoln near the village of Doddington will soon
be welcoming its first tenant.
An established local business looking to rationalise its
operations by taking 1,300 sq ft as an office and document storage
centre is in the process of securing space.
"The Cedar Parc project is unique as it is Lincoln's first mixed
use business park built using state of the art ecological and
energy efficient technologies. This is an exciting project for a
number of reasons, not least because it is a prime example of how
developers and local planning authorities can work together to
deliver commercial premises which have minimal impact on the
environment'," said Sam Heathershaw of Hodgson Elkington, chartered
surveyors, who are marketing the scheme.
"We have received high levels of interest from potential
purchasers, which is an encouraging sign that confidence could be
returning and finance is becoming realistically available," said
Sam Heathershaw.
The completed scheme will be built in four phases, of which
Phase 1 provides 10,370 sq ft (963.7 sq m) of the planned total
floor area of 24,350 sq ft.
Particular attention has been given to sympathetically integrate
the new development into the established mature landscape. The
existing tree, shrub and hedge stock has been protected in the
interests of visual amenity.
Fishing lakes have been stocked and improved to provide leisure
facilities whilst helping balance the impact of industrial
development.

Developers David and Nichola Newell are very keen to provide an
opportunity for other local businesses to establish themselves in a
business park which offers a pleasant working environment in such a
strong location.
"Unique within Lincoln, this business centre has been designed
to support sustainable development and as a substitute for public
transport facilities, the developer will provide return transport
to various Lincoln City locations exclusively for users of the
centre. A perimeter fence with electrically operated entrance
gates, regular security patrols and a monitored CCTV system offer
excellent security," said Sam Heathershaw.
For the last 20 years the site was used as a pine furniture
production, sales and distribution facility. More recently the
large warehouse had been used as a lighting showroom and auction
house.
Cedar Parc occupying an area of approximately five acres (2
hectares) when complete will offer thirteen small to medium sized
units comprising warehouse/workshop and office premises to let.
Located on Lincoln Road (B1190) towards the village of
Doddington, opposite the Skellingthorpe junction, it is situated
just two minutes west of the A46 and Lincoln's main business
district along Doddington Road.
"We believe this site is perfectly positioned to also provide
easy access to the outlying villages and beyond. The proposed lease
terms present tenants with the flexibility and piece of mind
necessary during such difficult economic times," said Sam
Heathershaw.
