Chartered accountants Clement Keys is celebrating a major client
win, having won a national contract to provide funding audits to
the Learning and Skills Council (LSC).
The contract, which will be delivered in association with Tenon,
enhances the practice's existing educational expertise and places
it amongst the top ten providers of internal, external and funding
audits to educational institutions across England.
Clement Keys and Tenon will be responsible for auditing more
than £400million of education spend allocated to twenty-one
colleges primarily in London and the South of England.
Clement Keys Director of Internal Audit Lee Glover believes that
ability of the two organisations to work together was central to
their success: "Tenon is one of three firms with recent experience
of this type of work and together we were able to offer the correct
balance of resources, skills and experience to meet the LSC's
needs.
"This win represents a significant success for us and it
reinforces our position as a leading provider of audit to the whole
of the public sector and not just education."
The work will be delivered by a joint team comprising of staff
from both Clement Keys' Birmingham and Tenon's Basingstoke
office.
Coordination and planning will be key as the contract requires
substantial man power over a short period because all audits are to
be completed by the end of November.
Clement Keys partner Simon Atkins adds "Our proposal built upon
our existing success in managing and delivering high volume audit
contracts for both the Audit Commission and the European
Commission. This joint approach combines our expertise in this area
with Tenon's technical ability to enable us to deliver a
substantial amount of work to a very tight reporting deadline."
