Browne Jacobson is launching a dedicated private client division
in Birmingham and has recruited partner Amanda Elwell as its new
head.
She joins Browne Jacobson from Black Country law firm George
Green Solicitors where she headed up the firm's private client
team.
Amanda will work closely with William Colacicchi, national head
of the firm's private client team, to develop a full service
offering for the firm's West Midlands based clients including
advice on wills, capital tax planning, trust issues and estate
administration.
Browne Jacobson is regarded by Legal 500 as having one of the
leading private client teams in the East Midlands and William
Colacicchi is keen to replicate that success in the West Midlands.
He commented:
"Despite the current economic climate we have remained very busy
and all the indications are that this sector will see growth over
the next few years.
"We have developed a strong private client portfolio in the
Midlands over the years and our ambition has always been to launch
a dedicated practice from our Birmingham office to best serve the
needs of our clients in and around the city when the time was
right. We think that time has come, as we can see real
opportunities for a quality team in Birmingham which we fully
expect to reward our investment at this difficult national economic
time."
Having qualified in 2004 Amanda was recently singled out for
praise by Legal 500 for her expertise in capital tax planning
matters. As well as being fluent in German, French and Dutch Amanda
is also a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners,
the British German Jurists Association and Chartered Institute of
Linguists.
On Amanda Elwell's appointment Colacicchi added: "There is
a demand for strong private client lawyers and Amanda's appointment
is a real feather in our cap.
"As well as being an accomplished lawyer she comes with an
excellent reputation and encompasses the unique skill set that
private client work demands.
"We have an ambitious strategy to grow the practice and client
base over the next five years and Amanda will be critical in
helping us to establish one of the leading private client practices
in the region."
Amanda Elwell, added: The opportunity to develop Browne
Jacobson's private client offering in the West Midlands was too
good an offer to turn down. The firm has a first class reputation
in the East Midlands and over the next few years I am really keen
that we emulate that success in the West Midlands."
