East Midlands construction companies looking for advice, support
or financial help on how to 'go green' by using sustainable
resources are advised to attend the New Technologies in Timber
event.
The free briefing event will take place at the Crowne Plaza
hotel in Nottingham on the 22 October 2009, from 5.30 pm until 7.30
pm.
The event will showcase the latest products and innovations in
Timber usage, and experts and advisers from the Sustainable
Construction Innovation Network (iNet) and Building Research
Establishment (BRE) will offer advice and details of grants
available to help encourage sustainable developments.
With over 100,000m3 of timber being harvested each year in the
East Midlands, now is the ideal time for companies not to beat
around the bush but to actively find out more about local timber
resources and benefits of using timber in construction.
Introduced by the East Midlands Development Agency (emda), the
iNet has a number of roles, including helping companies create and
safeguard jobs. The iNet focuses on a number of key themes in
delivering support to businesses and offers financial support of up
to £50,000 to encourage businesses to introduce innovative,
sustainable construction processes into new-build and refurbishment
projects.

iNet and the grants available, please telephone 01604 892020 or
