Rooms designed for quiet study and discussion by pupils have
opened at two Birmingham schools thanks to support from BHSF, the
city's national health insurer.
"Nurture Rooms" have been opened by BHSF chief executive Peter
Maskell at Birmingham Oratory RC Primary and Nursery School and St
John's CE Primary School in Ladywood, both neighbours of BHSF
headquarters.
Said Mr Maskell: "The idea is that children have a quiet area
where they can get away from the general hub-hub of school life.
The rooms have been kitted out and decorated to provide the
opportunity for quiet discussion or reading."

Oratory School's "Nurture Room". Father Guy Nicholls (second right)
performed the blessing of the room.
Clare Dickinson, head teacher at the Oratory school, said: "We
are extremely grateful to BHSF for their generosity in helping to
establish our Nurture Room. It will become a valuable asset to
school life."
Sarah Lea, headteacher at St John's said: "BHSF's generosity has
allowed us to create a room to develop pupils' self-esteem and
confidence when both may be a little low in the classroom. It
has made a great difference to school life".
