Advantage West Midlands (AWM) is encouraging local businesses to
take up their complimentary place at the annual ICT Conference in
November. The successful event, now in its sixth year, will
focus on "Competing in the New World".
Attendees can expect to learn about the latest technologies,
gain expert advice on subjects ranging from information security to
making the right technology investments, receive advice on funding
and support and gain access to technology partners, business
innovators and thought leaders.
The combined conference and exhibition is being held on
10th November at the National Motorcycle Museum in Solihull.
Keynote presentations include Vicky Reeves, Managing Director
of Chameleon Net on 'Innovating Your way to success' and Anne
Glover, co-founder and Chief Executive of Amadeus Capital Partners
on 'Right Investment, Right Time, Right Now'. Last year the
event attracted over 420 professionals from within and beyond the
West Midlands region.
The event is organised by the West Midlands ICT Cluster and is
sponsored by Vodafone, Advantage West Midlands, the Technology
Strategy Board, Business Link West Midlands, IBM, Redstone and
e-Innovation Centre. The conference seeks to inspire regional ICT
companies and organisations to innovate, gain best practice
industry expertise and provides excellent networking opportunities.
Other organisations participating include last year's ICT
Excellence Awards Overall Champion Rapide Communication, iCentrum,
The National B2B Centre, Digital Laboratory and media sponsors
Birmingham Post and Daily Telegraph.
This year the host will be award-winning broadcaster Stuart
Linnell MBE. The conference programme will incorporate
practical workshops on four key themes: Business, Technology, EU
funding and Public Sector. Subjects covered include Mobile
Technologies, Cloud Services, Internet of the Future and Financing
Innovation.
The ICT Excellence Awards ceremony, with categories ranging from
Best Innovative Product to Most Improved Business and the
Technology Strategy Board's Special Award - High Growth Potential
Business, will take place in the evening after the conference.
Mike Musson, ICT Cluster Manager said: "This year's event should
not be missed by any technology companies wanting to compete
successfully in the future. The combination of inspirational
speakers, technical specialists and business experts makes this a
fantastic opportunity to learn about new technologies, gain
hands-on experience and seek practical business advice.
Furthermore, feedback from our 2008 highlighted that the ability to
network was seen as a powerful reason to attend."
