Law firm Weightmans, which has an office in Leicester city
centre, sponsored a dinner to celebrate the 125th anniversary of
Leicester City Football Club on Thursday 24th September at top
local restaurant Poachers.
The evening kicked off with a champagne reception that saw
members of staff from Weightmans mingle with players including
Leicester-born Peter Shilton, who remains England's most-capped
player, and former Leicester city players Mark Wallington, Steve
Walsh and Matt Elliott.
After dinner, a 'Questions and Answers' session was held with
the footballers reliving their glory days on the pitch, followed by
a rare auction of LCFC memorabilia along with unique LCFC raffle
prizes.
Philip Pepper, an associate at Weightmans' Leicester office and
lifelong Leicester City fan said:
"The evening was a great success. As a firm, we believe it is
vital to support the local community within which we operate and
since Leicester City is an integral part of the community here, we
were more than happy to sponsor the event.
"My colleagues and I had a great time and one can't help but
feel a little star struck when you are in the room with people like
Shilton."
