A Shrewsbury based company are celebrating finding an apprentice
after using Apprenticeship vacancies online.
RhinoCo Technology UK were searching for an apprentice to work
in their Administration department. After working with County
Training, part of Shropshire Council, Rhino Technology were
informed about Apprenticeship vacancies, an online web-based
matching service.
Operated by the National Apprenticeship Service (NAS),
Apprenticeship vacancies online is a quick, easy and reliable
'one-stop shop' where employers can advertise vacancies and
individuals can search and apply for Apprenticeship
opportunities.
After placing their Apprenticeship vacancy on the system, Sam
Childs, 18, from Broseley successfully applied and started his
Apprenticeship with the company in June. As part of his
Apprenticeship, Sam works full time for the company whilst working
towards an NVQ level 2 in Business and Administration.
The National Apprenticeship Service (NAS), launched in April
this year, has end to end responsibility for Apprenticeships in
England. The NAS has been designed to increase the number of
Apprenticeship opportunities and provide a dedicated, responsive
service for both employers and learners.
Apprenticeships bring considerable value to organisations,
employers, individuals and the economy. Research shows that
Apprenticeships are an optimal way of training, developing and
skilling people for the future, and helping businesses secure a
supply of people with the skills and qualities they need which may
not be available on the external job market.
Businesses across the country are now increasingly realising the
enormous benefits that Apprenticeships create, not only in terms of
a highly skilled workforce but also by boosting productivity and
staff retention.
Councillor Steve Charmley, Portfolio Holder for Culture and
Leisure, commented "Apprenticeships with County Training provide
individuals with the opportunity to gain all important work
experience alongside qualifications, which can have a massive
impact on their future career path."
In Shropshire, there are currently 123 employers using
Apprenticeship vacancies online and more than 800 candidates have
registered so far.
Sam commented "Apprenticeship vacancies online was really easy
to use and provided me with access to many vacancies all over the
county. The support both Rhino Technology and County Training has
provided me with since I started has been really good and I would
recommend using the service to anyone who is looking for an
Apprenticeship opportunity."
RhinoCo Technology is an international wholesale provider of
electronic security and technology solutions, with 30 years of

helped us to find the right apprentice for our vacancy."
