A Shropshire based dental practice that is one of only a handful
of practices in England to meet the standards of a small hospital
and gain registration with the Care Quality Commission, has
appointed a new Clinical Director.
Dr Thomas Norlin D.D.S., Odont. Lic takes over at The Dental Spa
in Shrewsbury from Dr Jon Sproson who recently retired from General
Practice in the area.
Dr Norlin, who qualified as a dentist in Stockholm in 1998, is
probably widest known for his part in developing and patenting
SB12, an internationally marketed product which neutralises bad
breath. The product keeps breath fresh for up to twelve hours and

of the product.
After completing his training as an implantologist in Sweden in
1981, Dr Norlin built up his own Gothenburg practice which became a
Centre of Excellence for Implantology. The practice focused on the
aesthetics of the procedure, including restorative prosthodontics
and surgery, as well as general dentistry.
After relocating to the UK in 2007 with his wife, Karolina, and
their two sons, Algot and Elof, Dr Norlin practiced in Surrey
before moving to the Dental Spa in Shrewsbury. A full member of the
British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Dr Norlin carries out
surgical grafting procedures such as block grafts, sinus lifting
and apicectomies as well as implantology. Since coming to
Shropshire his expertise has gained him great respect from other
professionals in the area for whom he carries out specialist
referral work.
In addition to his clinical experience Dr Norlin has carried out
research work into protein processing at Rockerfeller University in
New York and at the Department of Neuroscience at the Karolinska
(Nobel) Institute in Stockholm where he lectured in the Department
of Physiology and Pharmacology. He has also been published in
several well known scientific journals.
Speaking about his appointment as new Clinical Director at the
Dental Spa Dr Norlin said: "I am delighted to be heading the
