Mansell has held a special presentation to mark the halfway
point of a major £115 million housing improvement programme
in Solihull.
Mansell's Stourbridge-based Western Region is carrying out the
work on behalf of Solihull Community Housing. The contract is aimed
at bringing nearly 3,000 tenants' homes to Decent Homes standard,
including new central heating systems, kitchens, bathrooms and
electrical wiring.
The completed "halfway house" was that of 85 year-old tenant Mrs
Barbara Townsend of Heath Gardens, Solihull. Mansell carried out a
complete refurbishment of her kitchen and bathroom, converting the
bathroom to a wet-room, with special equipment.
She was delighted with the work, and to mark the milestone she
was presented with a garden planter by Mansell staff.
Solihull Community Housing is Solihull Metropolitan Borough
Council's arms length management organisation which looks after the
council's housing service and is responsible for day-to-day
management, including repairs, rent collection, resident
participation and housing advice.
