Harvey Ingram's team of female fund-raisers today got in gear
for the Ladies' Driving Challenge 2009, being held at
Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground, near Lutterworth, on 11
October.
Teams of female motorists are being challenged to drive a range
of vehicles including a fire engine, various trucks and tractors
around a five-mile circuit. They will also be able to tackle the
site's fabulous purpose-built, off-road course in a 4x4
vehicle.
The all-day event takes place on October 11, giving participants
less than a month to complete their fund-raising effort. Cash
raised will be split equally between the British Red Cross and the
Fire Fighters' Charity.
British Red Cross senior fund-raiser Mary Morgan, paid tribute
to Harvey Ingram after it set its sights on assembling the largest
team and topping last year's £2,200 total.
She said: "I am delighted Harvey Ingram is supporting the event
again this year. The firm regularly participates and can be relied
upon to generate the largest entry of any one business."
The British Red Cross is involved in almost every community in
the UK and overseas, responding to fires and floods, as well as
providing first aid and training for thousands of people. The Fire
Fighters' Charity supports the thousands of British fire fighters
who put their lives on the line for the public every year.
Harvey Ingram team organiser Paula Fowle said: "The challenge
has now become a regular event for us and it's always enormously
popular. It's great fun, with the chance to get behind the wheel of
some very unusual vehicles too good to turn down - and it's a
priceless opportunity to raise money for two vital charities."
Harvey Ingram's team is already well on its way to topping its
£2,200 target, thanks to the generous support of clients,
colleagues and well-wishers.
