Deloitte appointed administrators of Midlands transport components company

Dominic Wong and Matt Cowlishaw of business advisory firm Deloitte were appointed joint administrators for Happich Vehicle & Industrial Components Limited and Happich Profiles Limited on 29 August 2009.

Happich Vehicle & Industrial Components Limited sells components, parts, accessories and assemblies for the transport industry, principally for the bus and truck sector.

Happich Profiles Limited manufactures rubber extrusions and steel inserted products for commercial vehicles, including bus, truck, agricultural and construction sectors.

The companies operate from three leasehold units in Birmingham and employ a skilled workforce of 51 people.

Dominic Wong, partner in the Reorganisation Services practice at Deloitte in Birmingham, said: "The companies have recently experienced trading difficulties due to the preliminary insolvency of the German parent company.  We expect significant interest in the businesses and will continue to trade the companies while we seek to complete a sale of the businesses as a going concern.  Regretfully we have been forced to announce seven redundancies today, one at Happich Vehicle & Industrial and six at Happich Profiles."
