evening's prize draw to win a bottle of champagne.
Members of the Midlands' business community gathered at
Wolverhampton Art Gallery to celebrate the merger of two of the
region's most respected law firms, Challinors and Sheltons.
Challinors acquired Wolverhampton private law practice Shelton
Solicitors, in July, and marked its return to the city after eight
years with a private evening reception celebration at Wolverhampton
Art Gallery last week.
Peter Hingley, Peter Caddick and David Hingley, all former
partners of Sheltons and now consultants at the newly created
practice known as Challinors Sheltons, were joined by Court Judges,
barristers, accountants, and clinical specialists. Partners and
lawyers from each of Challinors five offices across the Midlands,
were also at the launch event, including Alan Carnerio, a
partner in the Family Law team and 'partner in residence' in the
Wolverhampton office, Challinors' senior partner Paul Griffiths,
and clinical negligence legal specialist Nigel Sellar.
One of the longest established law firms in the Black Country,
Sheltons has been based in Queen Street, Wolverhampton since it was
founded more than 150 years ago and provides legal advice and
expertise to private and commercial clients based both locally and
across the region.
In welcoming the 80 guests to the celebration event, Challinors'
senior partner Paul Griffiths said: "By joining forces with
Sheltons, Challinors has strengthened its ties with the Black
Country and is using the local and specific legal expertise of the
incumbent Wolverhampton team to extend its services in the
Midlands. Challinors is delighted to be back in Wolverhampton after
its eight-year absence."
On the night, the prize draw for a bottle of champagne was won
by Stuart Ogilvie, Managing Director of Stuart J Ogilvie Potatoes
Limited in Lichfield.
Guests enjoyed a private guided tour of the Wolverhampton Art
Gallery, which included a special exhibition of works by Andy
Warhol, the permanent Pop Art displays and works of some of the
finest artists from the 18th century to the present day.
