Business Link is kicking off the autumn with a range of face to
face activities across the East Midlands designed to take their
Start-Up Service directly to the regions budding entrepreneurs.
In a bid to bring its range of free support to a wider audience
Business Link will be specifically targetting students, younger
people and those thinking of making a career change as part of the
latest raft of Start-Up campaign activity.
During September and October the regional Business Link Start-Up
Service team will have a visible presence at Fresher's Fayres
across the East Midlands. They will be taking the opportunity to
talk directly with those students who may be interested in starting
their own business in the future and advising them on the support
available to help turn their ideas into a reality. Students will
also have the opportunity to win £250 to spend on course
materials of their choice.
An extensive regionwide advertising campaign will be launched to
back this activity, targeting the increasing number of people
thinking of re-skilling to improve their career prospects during
the current economic conditions.
The campaign will be encouraging these potential entrepreneurs
to consider using their skills to discover what it takes to become
their own boss.
David Polkey, spokesman for the regional Business Link service
says, "The new activity being rolled out across the region is
designed to be direct and engaging and we hope that it will
motivate anyone who may be mulling over the idea of starting their
own business to take further action and contact us for help. They
may be newly qualified, have recently re-trained or be a student
with an idea they want to develop during their time spent at
university... whatever their situation, we want Business Link to be
their first port of call to access all the expert information and
advice available to help them realise their full potential and
achieve their business goals."
The Business Link Start-Up Service offers access to free advice
for people starting their own business or those currently running
their own business who may need extra help and advice to grow and
develop. Such support includes comprehensive training on:
- Deciding to start
- The business plan
- Financial planning
- ICT for your business
- Managing the money
- Managing the risk
- Sales and marketing
Once training is completed, people will have access to their own
business adviser who can guide them through making the leap into
self-employment and Business Link will remain on hand to advise
them through their first year in business and beyond.
The regional Business Link Start-Up Service can also offer
ongoing one to one business support with access to a dedicated team
of local advisers.
