Claire Young, who was runner up in the 2008 series of "The
Apprentice" was guest of honour at the official launch celebrating
the enlargement and refurbishment of Forever Green, Mansfield's
stylish, contemporary restaurant and events venue.
The lavish evening included Bucks Fizz and canapés, a hog
roast, stilt-walkers, jugglers, a forest light show, live music,
presentations by Claire Young and Forever Green's MD, James Cannon;
there was also a charity auction that raised £2,700 for the
Children's Neurology Unit at the Nottingham University Hospitals
NHS Trust (formerly the QMC).
Forever Green, which can accommodate up to 150 people, is set in
70 acres of Ransom Wood, a unique business parkland, which is
conveniently located on the south east of Mansfield, just off the
A617 with easy access to Chesterfield, Newark, Nottingham and the
M1. Forever Green is the ideal venue for a wide range of
corporate events, seminars and team-building activities, as well as
for private functions and weddings.
The Forest Suite is the sumptuous new function room on the first
floor that offers fabulous views out into the treetops. The
refurbished restaurant complements The Forest Suite with the use of
solid wood and specially-commissioned butterfly wall coverings.
The double-height windows enhance the diners' unique woodland
experience, which also affords views directly out into the
surrounding parkland.
Paul Jones is the new head chef and general manager who has
designed an extensive menu using locally-sourced ingredients, which
includes a wide selection of dishes at reasonable prices.
Uniquely, the restaurant will also be growing its own
vegetables, herbs and fruit. Forever Green has also just
extended its opening hours and is now open from 8.00am to 4.00pm
Mondays to Wednesdays; 8.00am to 10.30pm Thursdays and Fridays, and
11.00am to 4.00pm on Sundays.
Commenting on the completion of the refurbishment and
enlargement programme Ransom Wood's managing director, James
Cannon, said: "Following the success of our launch event I am
confident that Forever Green will emerge as one of the best places
in the region for corporate events, private functions and weddings,
as well as the restaurant becoming an all-day destination in its
own right."
