fundraising van with employees Dave Boden and Ian Mills
The Stourbridge-based Western region of construction company
Mansell has come up with a "vantastic" way of raising cash for the
firm's centenary charity fundraising efforts.
Mansell employees working on the Solihull Community Housing home
improvement scheme have been selling off advertising space on their
delivery van.
Mansell sub-contractors working on the scheme have bought up
space, and raised a whopping £2,000 for the company's
charities which include Mary Stevens Hospice, Macmillan Cancer
Support and Cancer Support Dudley.
Mansell has also been selling space on charity sign boards on a
number of its building sites across the region.
Regional managing director Steve Davies said, "This is a great
way of raising much-needed cash for our charities, while at the
same time promoting Mansell and our supply chain partners. As a
result of our fundraising activities, Mansell raised £1
million nationwide during 2008, and there's a big total expected
for 2009"
Mansell is involved in a major house improvement programme in
Solihull. The company is carrying out the work on behalf of
Solihull Community Housing. The contract is aimed at bringing more
than 3,000 tenants' homes up to Decent Homes standard, including
new central heating systems, kitchens, bathrooms and electrical
wiring.
