A special seminar for employers worried about swine flu and its
implications on their businesses is being held by legal firm Higgs
& Sons.
The seminar will take place on 13 October 2009 at the Black
Country Museum and is designed to provide employers with vital
information on how to manage their business during a time when the
medical profession and the government are suggesting a possible
upturn in the number of individuals affected by the pandemic.
Louise O'Connor, Higgs' HR consultant will lead the seminar.
Louise has many years' experience working in corporate HR
roles across the region and has recently joined Higgs, adding
further strength to its employment team.
"The swine flu seminar will provide an introduction to how the
virus may affect businesses," says Louise.
"We will cover the key considerations for managing and
controlling absence levels within the workplace and also address
the questions employers can expect from their own employees."
Whilst the number of cases of swine flu in England has dipped
last week with only an estimated 30,000 new cases, experts still
expect an increase in cases during autumn when schools reopen and
the traditional flu season begins in the UK .
Louise said: "HR departments have never been so busy. Our
role is to ensure they receive the very latest legal advice and
practical guidance to support them. In reaction to the current
problems employers face with swine flu we have prepared a seminar
to highlight issues and assist in reducing the impact on
businesses."
