A culinary celebration of Shropshire businesses was held at the
Boyne Arms in Burwarton last week.
Leisure industry experts were brought together by Jamie Yardley,
Chef proprietor of The Boyne Arms and Clive Dickinson of Class Wine
Direct, who created a menu which was complimented by a range of
wines by Bridgnorth based Rollo Gabb, of Journeys End wines, who
specialise in producing and supplying quality accessible South
African wines from their own vineyards, which are distributed in
the region by Clive Dickinson.
The four course locally sourced menu was concluded with a
selection of desserts created by Bridgnorth based Louis Barnett of
Chokolit, who worked closely with Jamie to create the selection,
using his hand made chocolate.
'It was a real pleasure working with Louis, he is a remarkable
young man, who managed to teach me, and my pastry Chef Chris a
thing or two about chocolate. We were so impressed, that we will be
creating a different dish for our daily menu with Louis every month
for people to try".
James Day, of Gourmet Life dining club who was present at
the event added "This sort of Gourmet event just goes to show how
diverse our region is in respect of producers, and suppliers, and
working alongside accomplished chefs like Jamie, and of course
Louis of Chokolit, just shows that good food can be fun"
Clive Dickinson who has been working closely with Rollo Gabb
added "The wine selection that Journey's End have created is
certainly versatile, and has been very well received over recent
weeks by our customers, and working with Jamie, to create the menu
has been a real pleasure - It was a fantastic night, and we look
forward to working with them again in the future."
