t-mac is the only mini building management system on the Carbon
Trust's Energy Technology list
Chesterfield-based t-mac Technologies has announced this week
that its t-mac HVAC system has secured a place on the Carbon
Trust's coveted Energy Technology List.
The Energy Technology List (ETL), which allows businesses
purchasing listed equipment to apply for 100% Enhanced Capital
Allowance (ECA), aims to encourage UK companies to invest in
energy-saving technology.
The t-mac system enables businesses to reduce energy consumption
by up to 30 per cent. It works by monitoring and controlling
energy consumption and carbon emissions of equipment via the
internet, by gathering metering data as well as energy consumption
information from sources of power.
For example, t-mac can collate energy data from an air
conditioning unit and highlight the energy that the unit is losing
and wasting unnecessarily, providing businesses with
recommendations on how to cut carbon emissions further.
The criteria for the ETL changes annually and new products are
added each month.
Lisa Wilkinson, Director at t-mac Technologies Ltd, said: "We
are delighted that our t-mac system has secured a place on the
Carbon Trust's Energy Technology List. Encouraging businesses to
invest in energy-saving equipment is an important element in the
fight against climate change.
"It is important that we educate business that investing in
energy-saving equipment goes further than saving money and energy,
it is also more tax efficient."
The ECA scheme is part of the Government's programme for energy
saving investments which aim to manage climate change and provide
businesses with enhanced tax relief for investments in equipment
that meets published energy-saving criteria.
