A Nottingham self-storage firm believes that there are now signs
of 'green shoots' of recovery in the city, after seeing record
sales figures in of June.
Storage King's Nottingham Central branch, based at Bath Street,
saw a record 129 lets last month - an increase of 72 per cent on
last year's figures.
The store also saw a 263 per cent increase in commercial letting
in the three months from April to June, compared to the first
quarter of 2009.
Storage King manager Duncan McKeown said: "We have seen real
signs of an increase in business activity in the second quarter of
2009, which has helped us achieve record sales figures.
"We have been helping companies dealing with increased stock due
to improving orders, and growing firms that are now hunting for new
accommodation.
"There has also been a sharp increase in the number of enquiries
we have had from people moving home, which is encouraging for the
housing market."
