Ex-detective Tom Buckmaster has been hired by the
globally-operating Octavian Security to further strengthen its
industry-leading training provision.
Mr Buckmaster, who spent 30 years in the force, latterly as a
detective sergeant with the Nottinghamshire Constabulary, has been
appointed as a co-ordinator in the training and development
department of Octavian.
The department delivers tailor-made courses, and site-specific
training, to a range of clients, with subjects covered including
conflict management, first aid, drug and alcohol awareness, risk
assessment, event safety, team building and time management.
Open to Octavian personnel, to companies in the public and
private sector who directly employ security staff and to any
individual wishing to obtain a security qualification, the courses
also include NVQ Level 2 Awards in Providing Security and Spectator
Safety.
Operations and Training Director Jot Engelbrecht commented:
"Tom's experience of developing and managing security-related
training packages will further enhance the group's first class
reputation in the sector.
"Once again Octavian is delighted to be able to prove that the
security industry can have highly-trained, professional and
dedicated security personnel, an ethos that is the cornerstone of
our business."
Tom's appointment comes just weeks after it was announced that
former Nottinghamshire Constabulary Chief Constable Steve Green had
joined the board of Octavian as a non-executive director.
