Leicestershire's economy is set to receive a significant boost
with the announcement that a landmark office scheme in Leicester
city centre has attracted its third tenant, and most significant
yet.
Two Colton Square, the second phase of the 100,000 sq ft Colton
Square office development, which is owned, developed and managed,
by global property company Goodman, has signed up Economic
Development Company, Prospect Leicestershire.
The newly-established organisation charged with creating jobs
and driving regeneration and economic growth across the region has
signed a 10-year lease on part of the ground floor totalling 4,269
sq ft.
The deal signed between Goodman and Prospect Leicestershire was
facilitated by national commercial property consultancy, Lambert
Smith Hampton (LSH), which is responsible for marketing the scheme
alongside joint agents Innes England.
Goodman's Two Colton Square is a four-storey, prime Cat A
specification new build office, incorporating the Grade II-listed
frontage of the former Police HQ. The 55,000 sq ft building is
located in Leicester's New Business Quarter, adjacent to the main
railway station.
James Raven, Development Director at Goodman, said: "For the
city and county's own investment and regeneration agency to
relocate to Colton Square is a resounding endorsement for the
development. The organisation has a critical role to play in
attracting new businesses and generating economic growth across
Leicester and Leicestershire, and we are delighted to welcome them
to Colton Square."
Jane Taylor, Head of Office Agency at LSH's Leicester office,
said: "Its prime location in the heart of Leicester's new Business
Quarter, close proximity to the mainline rail station and excellent
nearby amenities, together with the impeccable standard of
accommodation on offer, is unrivalled across the city.
"As such, we are confident that this is the first in a long line
of prestigious tenants to be enticed to the development which,
despite the current economic climate, is fast becoming a major
driver in establishing Leicester as a strategic business
destination."
Space within Colton Square is available from 5,000 sq ft
