A bespoke software system developed to provide a consistent and
easily accessible approach to fleet management information is
helping one of Interfleet Technology's clients to record increased
efficiency.
The internationally-operating rail consultancy based in Derby
has created the Fleet Management Plan database, on behalf of its
client, train leasing business Angel Trains.
Since the introduction of the database, Angel Trains has seen
efficiency improvements in the production of Fleet Management
Plans, version control and consistent data analysis.
Mark Zawisza, Interfleet's Head of Software Solutions,
commented: "Angel Trains required a software application that would
store its associated fleet management plan information in a
database that could be configured to select required information
from a number of primary sources.
"There was also the need to be able to output that defined data
in a common and consistently formatted report, which would replace
a series of manually-updated spreadsheets."
Using Microsoft's .NET 2.0 framework, the bespoke Interfleet
application can draw information from a variety of data sources and
present it in a consistent manner in one, accessible report.
Mark Hicks, Technical Services Director, Angel Trains commented:
"As a leading owner and lessor of rolling stock, it is imperative
that we have data that can be accessed and analysed quickly and
efficiently. Interfleet has worked with us to develop a bespoke
software solution that will benefit both our customers and
ourselves."
