Communications company drpgroup has made another addition to its
array of hi-tech events equipment, by purchasing the first Midas
PRO6 live audio system to be sold in the British corporate events
market.
The digital sound mixing desk is one of the most advanced in the
UK, and was built by specialist firm Midas Consoles, which is based
in Kidderminster, just a few miles from drpgroup's Hartlebury
headquarters.
Over the last four years, drpgroup has undergone a major
investment programme to build up a state-of-the art inventory of
equipment, allowing it to deliver on all aspects of clients' event
needs as quickly as possible. Previously it had hired in equipment
as and when needed.
drpgroup took the decision to purchase the PRO6 having outgrown
its previous digital console within a year of buying it.
drpgroup head of sound Ian Ruhback said: "After using a demo
version of the PRO6, we took the decision that we needed one
immediately. Everything is instantly accessible and nothing is
menu-based. A lot of the other digital consoles we have encountered
use a menu-based system and it really doesn't suit our
purposes.
"The content of the conferences and events we produce often
requires a really quick turnaround; things are always changing and
we don't have the time to go through overly complicated menus. Any
system we use has to be very user-friendly and the PRO6 is a very
accessible device as well as being, in my opinion, the
best-sounding digital desk on the market."
drpgroup's new PRO6 was used for the first time at a manager's
briefing for Thomas Cook, before being deployed on its first major
event - a 5,000-delegate Sainsbury's conference at the NEC -
earlier this month.
