Four members of staff from a Derby firm of solicitors are in
training for 'Race the Sun' a gruelling cross-country challenge, in
a bid to raise funds for leading medical charity, Action Medical
Research.
Solicitors Matthew Neiland, Kate Linge, Luke Phelan and trainee
solicitor Liz Mills from Bradley and Jefferies commercial
solicitors on Friar Gate in Derby, have formed a team called the
'Natural Disasters', who will cycle, climb and canoe across the
Lake District in September of this year.
In order to take part in the event, the 'Natural Disasters' must
raise £2,000 for the charity, which funds pioneering medical
research.
In its 50 years, Action Medical Research has been at the cutting
edge of a number of medical breakthroughs such as ultrasound in
pregnancy, the polio vaccine and hip replacement surgery.
The team will literally be racing the sun as they must cycle 50
miles before hiking to the summit of Mount Helvellyn and canoe
their way through a 2.5 mile course on Lake Thilmere - all by
sunset!
Commenting on the challenge, Matthew Bradley, partner at Bradley
and Jefferies said: "This is a fantastic opportunity to help
raise funds for such a worthy charity. I commend Matthew, Kate,
Luke and Liz for taking on such a gruelling challenge, I wish them
the best of luck with their training and performance on the
day."
Head of events at Action Medical Research, Anthony North
added: "Challenge events such as treks, cycling, marathons and
skydiving are an excellent opportunity for people who want to face
up to a challenge at the same time as raising money to help save
lives."
Bradley and Jefferies was established in 2005 by Matthew Bradley
and Amanda Jefferies, who have a wealth of experience in the
