Stormsaver, the UK's leading supplier of rainwater harvesting
systems, is a finalist in The National Business Awards Regional
Programme 2009.
The National Business Awards Regional Programme 2009, sponsored
by Orange, is acknowledged as the UK's leading showcase for
achievement in business, and aims to recognise some of the most
talented organisations embracing success, innovation and ethical
business across Wales, the Midlands and East Anglia.
Stormsaver has been nominated for The IMechE Business Innovation
of the Year category, which aims to highlight and celebrate
companies that excel at embracing innovation.
Paul Tollet, Vice President of Business, Orange UK said: "Nobody
can doubt that this is an extremely difficult period for commerce,
however, The National Business Awards provides the opportunity to
revive some confidence in UK business through the recognition of
our most talented organisations and individuals."
Lorraine Agnew, Programme Director, The National Business
Awards, commented: "It is refreshing to see organisations like
Stormsaver bucking the market trends and we are looking forward to
honouring those who keep excelling in these challenging conditions.
Stormsaver clearly stood out with its innovative strategies
securing its place in the finals alongside near 200 organisations
shortlisted across the country this year."
"We are delighted to have been nominated in the innovation
category," said Lisa Farnsworth, speaking on behalf of Stormsaver,
which she runs with husband Michael. "When Michael and I set
Stormsaver up we were determined to be successful, and to be market
leaders within six years is just incredible. Rainwater harvesting
was in its infancy back then, and it has continued to emerge as a
growing sector. To this end, innovation and creativity play a key
role in our ethos, not only for our portfolio of products, but also
down to the people we employ."
"This nomination is a testament of success to not only our
products, but also to the people who work here. It also highlights
that Stormsaver has a culture of innovation throughout the
business, with all members of staff being actively encouraged to
generate new ideas and new working practices," adds Lisa.
Established over six years ago, Stormsaver has become well known
across the UK for its innovative portfolio of products, which are
regularly used by over half of the UK's 150 top construction
companies.
"Our latest innovation is the COMBI-system which has been
developed specifically for commercial buildings with minimal
storage space. We will continue to strive to develop cutting-edge
products and be at the forefront of rainwater harvesting
engineering," added Lisa.
After making its finalist presentation on the 2nd June,
Stormsaver is now waiting to find out if it is a winner. It will
find out at the awards ceremony in Birmingham on 16th
July.
Stormsaver is well recognised for being an innovative company,
as earlier this year Stormsaver was nominated for the innovation
award at the Midlands Excellence Awards, and Lisa Farnsworth was a
finalist at the Women of Worth East Midlands Awards in the
innovation category. In 2007, Stormsaver won the 'Nottinghamshire's
Most Innovative Business' Award.
