The first in a series events from the Transport iNet will kick
off on Thursday 11th June with 'Motorsport Opportunities in Japan'.
The event will give East Midland businesses the chance to learn
about why Japan is one of the world's largest markets when it comes
to the motorsport industry.
The event offers an opportunity for small and medium sized
businesses to hear from key industry players, whilst learning about
why Japan is a leading market for motorsport exports. Speakers
include Nick Fry, CEO of Brawn GP, Richard Phillips, Managing
Director at Silverstone Circuits Ltd and Philip McKenzie from the
British Embassy Tokyo.
David Pickering from the Transport iNet, also speaking at the
event, said: "This is the first in our timetable of events planned
to highlight how Transport iNet can help the East Midlands
transport businesses to increase innovation. By being involved
with events like this, we can inform regional businesses about
opportunities available, as well as provide advice and support to
help them grow and increase profitability by expanding the markets
in which they operate."
Steve Crane from Business Link Japan, said: "This event provides
an excellent opportunity for motorsport manufacturing and supply
chain companies within the East Midlands to get an insight into how
do business with Japan. It also gives them the opportunities to
meet organisations such as ours, the Transport iNet and UKTI that
can help them get there."
A timetable of forty Transport iNet events and training session
will take place around the region over coming months to inform
businesses about key issues currently affecting the motorsport,
automotive, marine, aerospace and rail sectors. The events will
provide an opportunity for companies to network, whilst learning
about innovation opportunities available.
Hosted by UK Trade & Investment and held in conjunction with
Business Link Japan and Northamptonshire Enterprise Limited, the
event takes place between 9.30am and 1.30pm and costs
£30.
