ACTING on behalf of Leicestershire County Council, national
commercial property consultancy, Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH), has
sold 1.29 acres of industrial land in Wigston, Leicester.
The site, which is allocated for employment land uses, was
acquired by Kal Sangra, Shonki Brothers Limited on behalf of their
client, a local occupier, for an undisclosed sum,.
Geoff Gibson, Head of LSH's Leicester office, commented: "It is
particularly pleasing to have assisted in the regeneration of a
redundant Brownfield site which will hopefully be transformed into
a vibrant business destination.
"Land availability, particularly of this size, has been very
scarce in Leicester and with the market difficulties it was
uncertain as to the level of demand to expect for the freehold.
Given the current economic climate, the sale proceeds, which
was in excess of the asking price of £450,000, represents a
strong result for our client."
The site is situated on the Chartwell Drive Industrial Estate
which is ideally located for both access to the city centre and the
surrounding road networks including the M1, M69 and the Outer
Distributor Road.
Geoff added: "Chartwell Drive Industrial Estate forms part of a
well established industrial location. The purchaser is believed to
be finalising its development proposals prior to submitting a
planning application. However, given the site's location, it
is likely we will see industrial uses going forward."
