A team from Nicholsons Chartered Accountants in Lincoln
successfully completed a gruelling 60-mile trek for charity at the
weekend.
Senior partner Richard Grayson, together with fellow team
members Steph Danby, Charlotte Maynard and Mark Grayson, and friend
Rod Fry from local construction firm Clugston, took part in the
Pennine Challenge on Friday, June 12, in aid of the Lincolnshire
and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance Charitable Trust.
Not only did they all complete the trek within the 24-hour time
limit, but Charlotte won the event's 'Most Improved Walker' award,
having been forced to pull out of last year's walk after 23 miles,
but completing the full distance this time around, while Mark and
Rod had the satisfaction of finishing the trek successfully at
their first attempt.

Also vital to the success of the expedition were Nicholsons
co-workers Jeannine Thornley, John Raynor and Helen Grayson, who
made up the support team - meeting the walkers at various strategic
points to provide food and water and any additional equipment or
clothing needed.
Jeannine said: "It was tough, and a few people are now nursing
aches and pains, but everyone did really well to complete the
trek.
"The weather in the daytime was absolutely glorious which posed
its own challenges, as the support team had to work hard to keep
everyone hydrated, but it then went very cold in the evening, and
we then had to make sure they had enough warm clothes - as well as
a replacement outfit for one team member who fell into a
river!"

Nicholsons paid the team's entry fee, to ensure all sponsorship
money from family and friends went directly to the air ambulance.
Around £1,000 has been pledged by the walkers' families,
friends and colleagues.
