A new service has been launched to help senior executives at
companies in London and the Midlands deliver personal video
messages to staff, clients and the media.
Exectalk, from specialist video production and communication
company the drpgroup, provides a 'walk-in' facility at the
company's studios in Covent Garden, London, and Hartlebury,
Worcestershire, where video is produced on the spot, ready for
distribution via the internet or email.
Company representatives can record their message either straight
down the lens, or questioned by an experienced interviewer. The
studios both offer a permanent TV camera set-up and sufficient
privacy for even the most confidential topic.
The recording is edited and approved on the spot, then converted
into whatever format is required (such as Flash, MPEG or
Quicktime), before the client walks out with the finished product,
ready to be uploaded to the company website or emailed to the media
alongside a press release. Costs start at £395 per recording,
depending on individual requirements and duration.
Video has long been proved as the ideal vehicle to get messages
directly across to audiences in the most effective, inspiring and
engaging way. However, it is also often perceived as expensive and
too time-consuming for a busy executive with little time to spare -
a problem Exectalk aims to solve.
drpgroup Director of Video Dagmar Mackett said: "An increasing
number of press releases distributed on the newswires now have
streaming video in them, with a short soundbite or statement from a
senior figure at the company.
"We've been talking to lots of people in the industry who've
told us there doesn't seem to be a really simple and cost-effective
service for executives to just do a quick piece to camera. We are
trying to remedy this with the launch of Exectalk as we want it to
be an easy decision for companies to include video in their
communications."
The new service will be officially launched at the beginning of
June, and Dagmar said she was confident there would be a ready
demand for the service: "We've already spoken to a number of our
clients about this, and everyone is very enthusiastic, so we're
confident the demand is there and we can take this forward."
