Leicester office of LSH lands Red Hot national expansion

Despite what the majority of the world is calling a very gloomy economy, East Midlands-based restaurant operator, Red Hot World Buffet, is embarking on a nationwide expansion programme, much to the delight of its avid diners.

Red Hot opened its first premises in Nottingham in 2005, closely followed by Northampton and Milton Keynes.  Such has been the ensuing success and demand for the buffet-style world cuisine, the firm now intends to expand its operations UK-wide.

Although Red Hot has not announced a specific number of restaurant openings for 2009, the firm is working with leading national property consultancy, Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH), to acquire multiple premises across the UK, with the first of the new restaurants having already been secured.

LSH has acquired a 12,000 sq ft unit in Liverpool One, a £1 billion shopping, residential and leisure development in Liverpool city centre.  It is anticipated that the restaurant will open for business in late August / early September.

Helen Dhaliwal at Red Hot credits the current economic climate behind the chain's recent surge in popularity.   She commented: "Not only do our restaurants provide the customer with the unique opportunity to control their own dining experience, selecting the best that the world has to offer from a set price buffet menu, we believe they also offer a cost-effective alternative to other world-cuisine restaurants without compromising on quality."

She added: "We feel that there is a substantial gap in the market for the kind of product we are offering and we are looking forward to announcing the opening of a number of new restaurants in the not-too-distant future."

Martin Herbert, Head of Retail Agency at LSH's Leicester office, said his team is scouting various locations across the UK to facilitate the firm's rapid growth plans.

"Red Hot is embracing the latest trends in the restaurant industry as operators search for new ways to compete in the fast-casual dining sector," Herbert said.

"LSH's network of 28 offices across the UK will enable us to provide a truly unique nationwide service."
