Andrew Springhall, one of the East Midlands most dynamic and
enterprising entrepreneurs is not taking the recession lying down
and recently announced the launch of Turning Point Investments
Ltd, a new company aimed at helping potentially successful
businesses suffering from short term liquidity or cash flow
issues.
Backed by a select number of hand-picked East Midlands'
investors, the new company is already looking to invest funds and
management skills in a range of firms in the area which urgently
need targeted support in order to take their businesses to the next
level.
Andrew, who took his first business Power On Connections Ltd
from a standing start to nearly £20m turnover and to being
placed in the Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track Top 100 list, was
named East Midlands Entrepreneur of the Year in 2008 and is now
managing director of the rapidly growing professional search and
selection company Blusource Professional Services Ltd.
Commenting on the new venture, he said, "Through various
networks Turning Point has a huge resource of experience and
talent, which will help provide solutions to companies suffering in
the current economic climate. By injecting cash and taking equity
stakes in them, assisting in their growth strategies coupled with
general business and financial support, we aim to see business
owners concentrate on core business issues and improve shareholder
value for all."
The former Leicestershire Business of the Year Award Winner, who
is now based in Nottingham made the announcement at the recent East
Midlands Dealmakers Awards. Far from slowing down, following the
acquisition of the Power On business; Andrew is on the judging
panel for the National Business Awards (Midlands Region), sponsored
by Orange which will take place in June, is currently
mentoring two young directors based in the Midlands and together
with Blusource is sponsoring the NSPCC/Weavers Wine Tasting event
in Nottingham also in June.
"Turning Point is already taking equity stakes in some very
promising businesses from the East Midlands and I believe a
downturn is always a good time to invest in new ventures with
growth potential and employment prospects for the future." He said.
"I can't name any names just yet…but watch this space!"
